Kids Science Workshop: DIY Spectroscope–Seeing the Hidden Colors of Light

January 31 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Free – $23.18

Build a spectroscope and explore how light splits into hidden colors using simple materials. A science workshop for curious kids.

In this hands-on science workshop, children will build their own working spectroscope using simple materials such as a paper towel tube, a flashlight, and reflective surfaces. Participants will explore how white light contains many hidden colors and learn how scientists use spectroscopes to study light from everyday sources.

Through guided experimentation, children will discover core concepts including light dispersion, reflection, and wavelengths, while developing observation and inquiry skills. The workshop is designed to be interactive, age-appropriate, and engaging, encouraging curiosity through making and experimentation.

All materials are provided. This workshop operates on a pay-as-you-can system.
