Black Genius Festival ’26

February 28 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

ROOTED.
ANCESTRAL.
IMMERSIVE.
FUTURISTIC.

Black Genius Fest is an immersive day of culture, creation, and celebration. This February, we’re bringing the cookout to Parrish Street—the heart of Durham’s Black Wall Street, where Black Genius built banks, culture, and futures. One hundred years ago, Carter G. Woodson planted the seed of Black History Month—a radical act of celebration of Black stories and innovation.

We honor that centennial the way our ancestors would want: together, in joy, building forward. This is the next chapter.

Black Genius Fest is designed for all ages. Expect designated play spaces, dream stations, performances, and activities the whole family can enjoy together. There will also be wellness spaces for parents to recharge.
