What is Día de los Muertos?
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a long-standing tradition in Mexico and other parts of Latin America that was popularized in the US by the Chicano Movement in the 1970s and 1980s. Far from a spooky or scary holiday, Día de los Muertos is dedicated to remembering and honoring the lives of deceased loved ones and often celebrated with humor, positivity, and respect. We encourage everyone to join in the festivities and learn about Día de los Muertos. ¿Qué es el Día de los Muertos?
El Día de los Muertos es una antigua tradición de México y otras partes de Latinoamérica que el Movimiento Chicano popularizó en los Estados Unidos en los años setenta y ochenta. Lejos de ser unas fiestas de fantasmas o terror, el Día de los Muertos está dedicado a recordar y honrar la vida de los seres queridos fallecidos y con frecuencia se celebra con humor, positividad y respeto. Les animamos a todos a unirse a las festividades y aprender más sobre el Día de los Muertos.
