Join us for MLK Day of Service at Good Hope Farm. To support food security in our region, volunteers are needed to help prepare our organic teaching farm for spring planting. As part of this day of service, we ask that all volunteers bring at least one canned/nonperishable food item for donation to the local food pantry.
Volunteers can expect to perform a variety of agricultural field work. Volunteer service may include using wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, hoes, pitchforks, pruners and more as we prepare our farm for spring produce planting.
Come dressed in weather-appropriate work clothes that you can get dirty in and sturdy closed toe shoes. Bring a full water bottle. Volunteers aged 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
We ask that organized groups such as scout troops, businesses, and clubs to register as individuals and not as a group. This is for maximum communication in regards to the event. For questions or clarifications please contact [email protected].
Parking at the farm is limited, so please carpool whenever possible.
Any volunteer that needs hours verification must present their documentation at the end of the shift prior to leaving. Volunteer hours after this date will not be able to be verified.
