Pupusas for Education is excited to announce its Annual National Pupusa Day Festival, a cherished community tradition.
This year’s celebration will be held on Sunday, November 9th, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Durham Central Park (501 Foster St, Durham, NC 27701). We invite families, friends, and neighbors to join us for a day filled with community, culture, and connection, featuring an abundance of pupusas and other delicious traditional foods from Central America.
Beyond the culinary festivities, this festival is a chance to honor our roots, celebrate Central American heritage, and support immigrant and BIPOC students through our scholarship and educational programs. As our largest annual fundraising event, it is crucial for generating financial support for student scholarships.
Rubi Herrera from the Pupusas for Education team shares, “Each year, this event reminds us of the power of our culture and what we can achieve when the community comes together. We want this space to be one of joy, pride, and hope for everyone.”
This year’s festival promises many surprises, cultural performances, music, and activities for the entire family. Please save the date, invite your loved ones, and prepare for an unforgettable afternoon!
