The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host its second annual Diwali Festival on Saturday, Nov. 1, from noon-3 p.m. at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.
Free and open to everyone, the Diwali Festival will feature enchanting music, vibrant dance performances, hands-on arts and crafts activities, and a henna tattoo artist. Food trucks will also be on site throughout the afternoon.
Festival goers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets but are reminded that alcoholic beverages, unleashed pets, and grills of any kind are prohibited.
Diwali is India’s biggest and most cherished festival of the year. Known as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, showcasing the indomitable human spirit.
