Weekend Family Fun in the Triangle: Events for April 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2025

Amy Hartle

Looking for family friendly events in Raleigh this weekend? While you could pore through countless Facebook event listings and online calendars, wouldn’t it be so much easier if you had all the best events for kids in one place?

I thought so, too! So I’ve set out to do exactly that.

When you’re searching for kid-friendly things to do in the Triangle this weekend (and every weekend), I hope you’ll head here!

I’m a local mom, and every week I curate a list of the coolest events around the Triangle for kids and families. While these events center largely around Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill (the OG Triangle cities), I do my best to include events from all over the Triangle. That way, you don’t miss any events in your neck of the woods—or worth traveling for.

You can also check out our list of top things to do in the Triangle with kids anytime!

Family Friendly Weekend in the Triangle – April 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2025

PS: While I do my very best to make sure this event list is accurate, I always recommend reaching out to venues or event providers directly to confirm information before you go.

*NOTE !* Events with FREE ENTRY/FREE ADMISSION are displayed with a GREEN background. These events may have costs for food, activities, etc. Hope you find this helpful!

“H.M.S. Pinafore; Or The Lass That Loved a Sailor” Stage Play – Carolina Theatre (Durham)

Sunday April 13th | 3:00pm

Step aboard “H.M.S. Pinafore” for a rollicking adventure at port! This delightful comic opera from the legendary duo Gilbert and Sullivan brings humor, catchy tunes, and a dose of British wit to life. The story is set aboard a British naval ship and follows the romantic entanglements of the lovely Josephine, the captain’s daughter, and her love for the lowly sailor, Ralph Rackstraw. But there’s a twist: Josephine is promised to Sir Joseph Porter, the absurdly pompous and incompetent First Lord of the Admiralty.
Filled with hilarious misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and tongue-in-cheek satire, “H.M.S. Pinafore” will have you laughing out loud. The live orchestra, infectious songs, and charming performances make it an unmissable treat for all ages.
